Collected Remembrances of our Old Yale, 1956 to 1960:
As announced back in February by our Class Memorialist, John Blanpied
For this, our last stand-alone reunion of the Class of ’60, many of us will feel moved to muse or opine from the vantage of our long life experience, to distill the wisdom accrued, the lessons learned, the achievements garnered since our undergraduate days.
Let’s not do that. Many of us have done it before, anyway, in one way or another. Instead, let us indulge the understandable desire to mark this occasion with some reflection about those few years when we were becoming the Class of ’60.
How about writing, say, 250-500 words on a single event, episode, or experience from our undergraduate days – something particularly savory, notable, inspirational, disastrous, embarrassing, frightening, revealing, humorous, ludicrous, epiphanic, mind-blowing, heart-warming, future-forming, or spine-stiffening. Or, if nothing singular occurs, then go ahead, give vent to your musings about Yale then in the light of Yale now.
After all, this will probably be our last chance to talk collectively about our years together back when we and the world were young. Think of it as chiming into a big conversation around a really big table. Spirits may be served and aroused. Contribute, but don’t hog. Compress into a good bottle with a stout cork. Mix metaphors freely.
Here, then, are the submissions from the Class:
