Arthur Morgan Weber was born on August 21st, 1938 and passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2025.
Arthur started school at Mount Pleasant in his neighborhood. He enjoyed walking to school along Brandywine Blvd. He transferred to Friends School in Alapocas in the 7th grade and graduated in 1956. Through his whole life, he loved music and became quite a good pianist. In high school he played in the band, The Melody Knights, that was formed with his old friends from Mount Pleasant. In 10th and 11th grade he played at many high school dances. He enjoyed playing the piano at various Country Clubs on Cape Cod during the summers when he was in college. At Yale, he was part of the Dukes Band. Later at family gatherings, he would play requests by ear. It was especially appreciated when he would entertain his mother and other family members in the Shipley Manor Retirement Home.
Arthur graduated from Yale in 1960 and continued earning a Chemical Engineering Masters degree in 1961. He then worked briefly for DuPont, followed by a few years at the Yale Architect School. Deciding that was not a career he wanted, he headed to NYC to work on Wall Street as an analyst. After 2 years, he moved to Boston as a stock broker before finding his love for computer programing. He formed his own company and worked for himself thereafter. Eventually he moved back to Wilmington to be near his family.
He enjoyed running and swimming most of his life. He was an active participant in the YMCA near his home.
Starting in November of 2024, he started to decline. The wonderful people at Delaware Hospice began to help out in December. He was moved next door into his brother, Dan’s house towards the end so he could have round the clock care. He was a great football fan of the Eagles. He hung on until they qualified to progress to the Super Bowl. He passed away peacefully listening to that game.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Koch and husband Kurt Braunohler, and grandchildren Olive and August (“Gus”). Two siblings remain: Dan Weber and Margaret Weber Makar (husband Michal).
Arthur will be buried in the Weber plot in the Lower Brandywine Cemetery across from Winterthur, along side of his father, Dr. Arthur G Weber, mother, Marjorie Ruth Weber and sister, Carolyn Ruth Weber.
