Boris Schlomm

Boris Shlomm passed away on Saturday, July 9 after a courageous battle against Lymphoma cancer. Boris was born in Paris, France on March 20, 1939. He grew up in New York City and graduated from The Columbia Grammar School. He was valedictorian of the class of 1956, Boris went on to graduate Yale University in 1960, Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. He became owner and chief executive officer of Amicale Cashmere, a company founded by his father, Gregory Shlomm, in 1941. The company was based in New York City with factories in the United States, England, Mongolia and China. Boris first traveled to China in 1972 at the invitation of the Chinese government to buy cashmere fiber, and in 1990 he established the first US-Mongolian joint venture. Boris loved to travel the world for business and pleasure his entire life. In 1965, Boris married Laura Kessel, and they were life long, loving companions for 57 years. Boris is survived by his wife, two sons, Alexander (Jennifer), Daniel (Erika) and four grandchildren, Sofia and Will, Andrew and Juliette. Boris will be missed by friends and family
near and far.
