David Bishop Chapman, 80, of Currituck House, Moyock, NC died April 30, 2018. He was born November 24, 1937 in New Haven, CT to the late Mary Lynch Chapman and Clifford B. Chapman. He was a Yale Graduate Class of 1960 and served in the U. S. Army for two years before starting a career with the New Haven, CT Postal Service where he remained until his retirement.
David was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan, sports fisherman, and nature photographer. He moved to Moyock, NC in 2014 and resided in Currituck House until his death. He was a parishioner at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Maple, NC.
He is survived by a sister, Jean C. Snider and husband Denton E. Snider, two nieces, Laura Rodriguez, and Diane Jackson both of Virginia Beach, VA. The family would like to thank the Currituck House Moyock for their care and concern for David.
A funeral service was held at 1:00 p. m. on Monday, May 7, 2018 at St. Katherine Drexel Church, 154 Maple Road, Maple, NC, 27956 with the Father Nick Cottrill officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Katherine Drexel Poor Fund would be appreciated. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC assisted the Chapman family.
