George C. Forrester, born in Sewickley, PA, on March 16, 1938, and died in Kenwood, CA on March 13, 2008, in the company of his wife, Sheila, after suffering a bout with pulmonary fibrosis. In addition to his wife Sheila, he is survived by his brother Robert R. Forrester III; his daughter Katherine F. Westerman and her children Brittany, Lissa, Averi, and Jackson; daughter, Jane C. Forrester and her children Makenna, Parker, and Tucker; and son, Charles C. Forrester and his daughter Audrey. He graduated from Rumson Country Day School, Rumson, NJ; Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, NH; and Yale University, New Haven, CT. He interned with the private bank of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. prior to moving to California where he spent his entire career managing people’s money and managing people who managed people’s money. At retirement, he was managing director of Northern Trust of California in Newport Beach, CA. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening and playing golf as much as possible until he could no longer play. He also spent a lot of time working with at-risk children. From 2000 until his death, he served as president of Valley of the Moon Children’s Foundation, working to build a new Children’s Home for the abused, abandoned, and neglected children of Sonoma County. He wanted to thank all of you who have touched his life and made him and his life better for it. At his request, no services were held.
