Glyn B. Stout, an owner of Lupin Lodge in Los Gatos, CA since 1977, passed away unexpectedly from an aortic aneurysm on November 12, 2015. Glyn was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1937 to Robert Haskew Stout of Paris, Texas and Addye Glynne Council of Baird, Texas. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1956, received his BA from Yale University in Economics in 1960, and his MBA from Stanford University in 1960. He attended Officer Candidate School in Newport RI in 1960, and served in the US Navy as a lieutenant and ships navigator on the USS Epping Forest (MCS-7). He served both as an active duty and reserve officer from 1960 to 1970.
During Stout’s college years, he worked for the New York Central and then Santa Fe railways.
Glyn was the CEO of Synergex Corporation in Santa Clara CA from 1966 to 1977. He was the founding member of TANR and was the president or board member from the 1980s to 2007.
He was married to Sandra Sue Laden of Dallas Texas from 1966 to 1977. Glyn is survived by his wife, Lori Kay Mendoza of San Diego California, his twin daughters, Simone and Samara, and sister Joanne Stoneham of Austin Texas.
Glyn was a proud steward of the land he loved in the Santa Cruz Mountain. He was a great intellect, leader with vision and mentor or father figure to many. His optimistic outlook, compassion and uplifting spirit will be missed. A celebration of Glyns life will be held on Saturday, December 5, at 1:30 at Lupin Lodge 20600 Aldercroft Heights Rd., Los Gatos, CA, 95033.
