Jeremy Leiber Sprung, 85, passed away on December 20th, 2023, in McKinney, Texas. Jeremy was born in Pittsfield, MA to Murray and Mildred Sprung on March 29th, 1938. He graduated from Yale and later went on to receive his PhD from UCLA, where he studied under a Noble Prize laureate. He married Susan Clingenpeel on May 31st, 1981, at the beautiful Diamond Head Beach Park in Hawaii.
He worked as a nuclear physicist at Sandia National Laboratories for 40+ years in Albuquerque, NM.
Jeremy was a dedicated soccer referee for over 25 years, reffing for both of his children and even his granddaughter.
After retirement he took great pride in being a doting father and grandfather. His favorite conversation topic was bragging about his beautiful granddaughters. Jeremy was the family handyman and took delight in finding solutions to his family’s problems. While Jeremy will be greatly missed by his loved ones, they are also at peace knowing he will no longer be at war with Alzheimer’s.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his parents, Murray, and Mildred; his son, Zachary Sprung; and his grandson, Aiden Sprung.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Clingenpeel; his daughter, Hannah Sprung; his daughter-in-law, Penny Sprung; and his granddaughters, Jasmine Gipson and Noelle Sprung.
